Health, Safety, & Human Factors Report
William Fung-Schwarz Reporting
Crewmember & Individual Health: One crewmember needed on over-the-counter analgesics for a back ache. One crewmember took a well deserved nap.
Team Wellness: From the hill above the Habitat near the Musk Observatory, I sat testing the MoonSkin suit's battery system and was able to see the team darting around the complex…all busy and happy.
Safety Inspection: Dust management and mid-mission Habitat cleaning duties will take precedence in the next few days.
Human Factors Research: Participants continue to arduously complete the study's survey, today's questionnaire focused on the “safety climate” of the MDRS/Moonbase working environments. Leadership, management, and Command structure are all important elements in establishing safety systems and safely-operating work sites.
Daily Evening Group Sharing Activity:
(to protect crewmember privacy, responses have been grouped and only composite themes are reported)
- Thorns (Hassles/Challenges/Threats): slow WebDAV uploads,
- Roses (Uplifts/Salutogenic Factors): great weather, progress on work projects, watching a fellow crewmember work, getting “outside”, instant feedback of digital photography
- On the Fence Items: the wind (some liked the wind, some didn't): naps
Plans for Tomorrow:
- Assist Leslie with data collection regarding the motion study of the MDRS Analogue Suit versus the MoonSkin MCP suit
- Scout out ideas to help prevent slips, trips, and fall around the Moonbase exterior
- Clean the hand towels and rags that are needed at hand washing stations and in the kitchen
Plans for Tomorrow:
- Support Commander and the Executive Officer in crewmember orientation and continued training.
- Support ATV and Moon Analogue Suit training and familiarization.
- Support collection of media (photography/videography)
