Journalist Report
André Dunford Reporting

ExBeta reaches its halfway point and is in its third day of simulation. Two science EVAs were conducted today, and were accompanied by international media, as a video crew from Barcelona arrived yesterday to shoot a documentary for Spanish television. This media attention is not directly disturbing operations, but there is an acute awareness of their presence, and some minor scheduling changes are being made to accommodate their agendas.

On the science front, the crew biologist and crew geologist are successfully collecting data for their respective research projects, and are on schedule in terms of EVA planning and data collection.

The full days of EVA planning, EVA execution, data collection, video documentation, and report writing are beginning to wear on my energy, and on the energy of the crew in general. Of course, this is to be expected, and is an interesting part of the simulation experience. We will be having a discussion and progress report tonight in order to determine the physical and mental status of the crew. In my personal opinion, we are very fortunate to have an open and communicative crew, who cope well with the close quarters and use humour to maintain a productive atmosphere.
