Commander's Check-In
Melissa Battler Reporting

EVA: We had two full EVA's today (EVAs 8 & 9) to do geology mapping in the morning, and do biology field work in the afternoon.

Crew Physical Status: Happy & healthy, but tired.

Brief Narrative of Today's Results: Today four crew members (Andre, Danielle, Jonathan, Melissa) went on a morning EVA to Martian Squeeze ridge (ridge above Bob's Rock Garden) to identify lithologies for Andre's map, and to practice geological reconnaissance using HERMES scouting methodology. The Spanish film crew followed them part way, and did a few very brief interviews in the field. Then, in the afternoon, the film crew followed three crew members on ATVs (John, Ryan, Kevin) to Lith Canyon, for biology field sampling at known waypoints. Melissa went along out of simulation to help the film crew. We also made fresh bread today, and it turned out very well! Tonight we will all complete CogHealth tests, for Sheryl Bishop's psychology study, and Melissa and Ryan will give a short lecture about the second half of Stacy Sklar's HERMES protocol.

Plans for Tomorrow: Tomorrow we will do 2 EVAs; geology in the morning and HERMES practice in the afternoon. The Spanish film crew will be with us for the day again, and the Belgian film crew will join us in the afternoon.
