The eight samples collected on EVA-7 were plated on LB agar with 15% salts and incubated at 37°C. No growth is visible on previously plated samples. Tomorrow all samples will be plated a second time on a different batch of agar to see if anything will grow

Seven samples from saline environments were collected on an EVA to Lith Canyon. One sample of note was LC05 which was a water sample collected from a frozen pool of water which had a film of red liquid water on the surface. They will be plated tomorrow.

Sample LC04: Evaporite crust from the bottom of the wash from the dry river bed at the bottom of Lith Canyon in an area with rippling substrate formations indicating the presence of water at some point in the past.

Sample LC05: Film of liquid water from the surface of a small pool of water ice. The ice was located under an overhang of rock and the surrounding substrate was a red clay material.
