Commander's Check-In
Melissa Battler Reporting
EVA: We had no EVA today, due to high winds.
Crew Physical Status: A few minor injuries today, but the "victims" have recovered, and the crew is healthy, happy, and in very good spirits… cold though, as the heater stopped working for several hours today (repaired now).
Brief Narrative of Today's Results: Today we did more training inside the hab, as we couldn't go outside. We learned about biology lab procedures, GPS, and the dataloggers we will be using on EVA's. Andre did a presentation about his research, and Ryan led a visualization exercise, to help us become more familiar with our space suits and field tools. Tonight we will learn about HERMES field exploration methodology, and do some biology experiments together in the lab, and then celebrate Kevin's birthday, and the 3-year anniversary of my first trip to MDRS.
Plans for Tomorrow: Tomorrow we will go on at least one (possibly two) EVAs to practice HERMES, and hopefully go on our first full-sim science EVA, weather permitting.
Report Transmission Schedule:
1. Commander's Check-in, 18:30
2. Engineering Report, 18:30
3. Corrected EVA Report from 14 Feb.

Maintenance: Danielle fixed the kettle! Engineers transferred waste fuel from generator leak into a drum, and did a partial re-fill of the outside potable water tank. Lealem repaired radio button in helmet #5, and began working on aeration bucket for grey water treatment system.
Inventory: Still waiting for biology lab equipment.
Miscellaneous: The crew had yet another excellent day; everyone's learning a lot about all aspects of the mission, and having a great time, too. We've started doing a few "Martian Olympics" events each day, to coincide with the Torino 2006 Olympic Games.
Support Requested: Extended wind forecast, please!
