Geology Report
Tiziana Trabucchi & Cécile Sainte Marie Reporting

Objectives: To try to find more kind of fossils South West of the Hab.

Summary of Findings: Close to the cliffs of Sky Rim, we checked out a promising wash. There we found nice fossilised specimens: a fossil's print in siltstone (Figure 1), probably a Brachiopod in yellowish siltstone (Figure 2) and a fossilised pattern in shale (Figure 3).

Between 2 and 3 km South West of the Hab, we found a place with trees (almost like an oasis!) and a runoff gulley where we discovered a multitude of shell fossils (Gryphaea) and an interesting cast (Figure 4). We noticed that the cast is made of the same sandstone than the host rock.
