Geology Report
Tiziana Trabucchi & Cécile Sainte Marie Reporting

Objectives: Today we planned to go up to Candor Chasma, first because Kurt Klaus, the Geologist of the Leonardo team, advised us to do so as it is an interesting place, and also to check if there would be some nice cliffs for the CRV.

Summary of Findings: Unfortunately, we had to go back when we were at the middle of Cactus road because of a bad storm coming in our direction. On our way back to the Hab, we noticed that the storm was not a danger for us anymore and we decided to stop to gather samples near the Hab.

Then, while walking around, we noticed an interesting rock with a lichen colony on it and three hundreds meters further we collected some small samples of gypsum and dark reddish chert.

GPS Coordinates of interesting features: As we do not have a GPS, we cannot give more information about the coordinates of the samples.
