EVA Reports
Anne Pacros & Christyne Legault Reporting

EVA-1:

Objectives: Collect geology samples and collect data inside the space suit

EVA Team:
Commander: Christyne Legault
Crew: Tiziana Trabucchi
Hab Comm: Sheryl Bishop

Planned Route: South East 115°

Timeline:
Don Suits: 1330 MST
Enter Airlock: 1500 MST
Egress: 1512 MST
Enter Hab: 1513 MST

New Waypoints Established: N/A

Narrative: Christyne started the lego robot lab program as soon as she was out to collect the temperature and the humidity of the inside of the space suit. After 50 minutes of space walk, she started the program 2 to collect other data inside the space suit. Tiziana collected both rock and sand samples to analyze.

EVA-2:

Objectives: First CRV test

EVA Team:
Commander: Anne Pacros
Crew: Cecile Sainte Marie
Hab Comm: Sheryl Bishop

Planned Route: Hab vicinity

Timeline:
Don Suits: 1600 MST
Enter Airlock: 1625 MST
Egress: 1630 MST
Ingress: 1725 MST
Enter Hab: 1730 MST

New Waypoints Established: N/A

Narrative: The purpose of this EVA was a "dry run" of the CRV (i.e. without the video camera inside). The CRV behaved properly on a vertical cliff: it went down straight on, did not flip over. On a not so steep slope, it was fine until it had to go over a bump: in order to make it pass the bump, we had to let it take up speed and when it went over the bump it flipped over. However thanks to the anti-roll rods, it did not stay on the side, it ended up just "upside down" and we could pull it back up to the top of the slope. Finally, we practiced installing the system that the Leonardo Team designed in order to transport the CRV on the ATVs.
