James Waldie Reporting

Lots of running around on our last official day. Several EVAs were again squeezed into the morning, with some more geological sampling and CRV work at our so-called DaVinci Lookout at the end of Cactus Road. The replacement vacuum cleaner belt arrived in the morning, and we replaced it. The thing still wouldn't work, though, despite it's windtunnel technology, 5 stage microfiltration and embedded dirt finder. It also has an EASY OPEN front cover (it says so on the plastic) to get to the bag, but this engineer couldn't get the #$%^ thing off! A long wrestle ensued, much swearing and cussing, and then Ricardo came along and opened it within 2 seconds. Charming.

I think I regained some respectability, though, as the thing now works after being disassembled down to the motor. No excuses for not having the hab clean for the girls of Mona Lisa. A long EVA in the afternoon/evening travelled to the tip of the Lowell Highway, then to the southern tip of Copernicus, and then a return via the Ridge Road - 86km round trip! After that, final saliva samples, questionnaires and coghealth tests for the psycological study, and then pizzas for dinner and Space Cowboys on the small screen. I don't want to leave!
