Log Book for April 10, 2005
Commander's Check-In
Bill Clancy Reporting

Weather: mostly sunny; low 2.5c (36.5F), high 13.9c (57F), warm enough not to require a coat

Crew Physical Status: enjoyed a great day off

Brief Narrative of Today's Results: Woke up about 0800h, greeting Judy Gertler & Jim Murray of Foster-Miller, who set up video, audio, and Cricket tracking system. Eight of us took a 4 mile roundtrip hike to Golden Throne in Capitol Reef National Park (1100' climb), followed by Hickman Bridge, 2 miles, formed by water in the Moenkopi sandstone formation, undercutting the Wingate formation, very much like those in Natural Bridges. Stopped to at Goosenecks overlook near sunset. Wonderful dinner at Rim Rock Restaurant near Torrey.

The Schedule: in bed by 2200h.

EVA: strenuous and moderate hikes.

Report Transmission Schedule: none

Maintenance: Frank installed the diesel fuel autofeed from the large tank to the generator; also worked on the shower propane heater & installed shelf in Brent's stateroom.

Inventory: brought back piece of steak for Frank

Plans for Tomorrow: back to work.

Miscellaneous: It was refreshing to get a day away, but we returned to the hab happy we would not leave again for a week. Except for a few pools and slippery places, the road is drying quickly.

Support Requested: none
