Log Book for April 2, 2005
Commander's Check-In
Jan Osburg Reporting

EVA: none in-sim; lots of outside activities though

Crew Physical Status: fine

Brief Narrative of Today's Results: We went out of sim last night around midnight. Today we are busy packing our gear and cleaning up the hab. We just finished the handover briefing of CDR Clancey and Crew 38; their guys are already busy setting up their robots etc. Paul Graham & team are putting the finishing touches on the new power system.

Plans for Tomorrow: leave MDRS around 0830h, have breakfast in Hanksville, Lunch in Provo, drop off the helium bottles in Salt Lake City, park the truck at the Airport Comfort Inn, and then get on the plane back to civilization :-)

Report Transmission Schedule: the summary report will be transmitted later tonight

Maintenance: we'll do the general clean-up later today

Inventory: we're all set, and the new crew has brought several Ryder trucks full of gear so they should be fine, too

Miscellaneous: Thanks again to the Mars Society for letting us do a Georgia Tech crew rotation at MDRS. We are glad we had such a fun and succesful mission. Thanks also to the mission support crews at Mars Society HQ and at our own mission support center in Atlanta for being there for us – you guys were great! Thanks to our sponsors who helped fund part of this mission. And last but not least thanks to Paul and his engineering team for all the upgrades that make the hab a much better place to live and work in.

Support Requested: none

On to Mars,

Jan Osburg
Commander, MDRS Crew 37
