Health & Safety Report
Amber Church Reporting
Crew Health: Several of the crew are still suffering from a cold which is sapping energy slightly. The only crew member whom seems completely unaffected is our commander who is still full of energy and enthusiasm (and also explains the discrepancies in yesterday's reports-he was simply too involved in work to realize that everyone else was sick). Four crew members have deteriorated while a fifth seems to be improving. We are continuing to try and get some more sleep (although the generator thwarted us on that initiative last night).
Some crewmembers have been working incredibly hard trying to clean up the lower level of the Hab. One has begun to show signs of rubbing on her hands for the work so we have made sure to protect her hands with band aids and gloves to prevent blistering from occurring.
The Generator: We were unable to re-start the generator last night after our scheduled midnight refill. We finally gave up at 3 am and forced everyone to bed (with warm clothes). We were able to start it again this morning at about 9am but in between these time periods we lost all power and therefore the Hab Comm as well. Everything is working well again. We found very few candles in the Hab last night (and most of those were almost finished off) so it is recommended that new candles are brought in.
Emergency Contacts: We decided that it was unwise that none of the medical forms or waivers included a section for emergency contact information. To combat this we had each crew member annotate their medical form with emergency contact information so it was readily available if need be.
