They start by using the ERA as a workbench, storing samples and tools, reviewing the plan, and reminding themselves of the voice commands available.

Then Brent commands the ERA to follow him and they walk to the next waypoint.

After about 1.5 hours, it's time to replace the batteries, plus we removed Brent's backpack cover to avoid more overheating problems.

As a test, Brent is instructed to stand behind a rock and say
As a test, Brent is instructed to stand behind a rock and say "Follow me." The robot managed to turn to narrowly avoid the rock (especially difficult because backing up is disabled when the cart is attached).
Heading to the furthest point, Abby and Brent have realized they don't need to baby the robot--just keep on walking and it will find a path. But still they turn around now and then, curious to watch its progress.
