Log Book for March 28, 2004
Commander's Check-In
Alejandro R. Diaz Reporting

Crew Status: The 6 members of Crew 27 are in very high spirits and glad that we are all finally at the hab. We all hope to complete a successful two-week stay at MDRS.

Daily Recap: Crew 27 (Wil McCarthy, James Russell, and William Foltyn) received a very thorough handover from Crew 26 beginning on Saturday, March 27 and ending today at 9:00am. McCarthy, Russell, and Foltyn were given detailed training of MDRS procedures for the GreenHab, generators, space suits and ATVs. They noted that Crew 26 did a great job in capturing procedures and developing checklists. This made the handover very efficient. After the handover, Wil McCarthy and William Foltyn drove Crew 26 to SLC and picked up Alex Diaz, Julie Wardlow, and Peter Collins. We all then drove to the hab, arriving at around 7:00pm. The remaining of the evening was utilized to finalize administrative duties and for dinner.

Tomorrow's Plan: Tomorrow morning we will receive a visit from Don Foutz from Mission Support. Don will be here at 9:00am. After our meeting, McCarthy, Russell, and Foltyn will train the remaining members of Crew 27 (Diaz, Wardlow, and Collins), crew responsibilities will be finalized and, if time permits, ATV training will be conducted. The crew will also focus in familiarizing themselves to the hab.

Daily Reports: Remaining crew reports will be provided starting tomorrow, once crew responsibilities are finalized.
