General Engineering Report
Amy Blank & Jason Schwier Reporting
Generators:
Lil Genny:
Time: 0715
Started with minor difficulty, most likely due to the cold. Oil full. Gas full
Generac:
Time: 0725
Output AC Voltage: 250 V
Output Frequency: 59.5 Hz
Output DC Voltage: 14.5 V
Hobbs: 5706.7
Oil: Added 200 mL
Oil is slightly sticky in the Generac. The diesel generator arrived today, but uses a different plug than the Hab has.
Tanks:
Time: 0725
Propane 1 North: 7%
Propane 2 South: 11%
Closest Tank to Hab: 63%
Water:
Time: 0715
Inside: 45 gal, 20 gal were also used yesterday before the external tank was picked up
Outside High: > 90 cm
Outside Low: > 90 cm
Shower Bucket: 1 bucket to toilet refill tank
GreenHab Engineers informed the crew that the GreenHab water levels are critically low. The crew will be using more water than normal until water levels in the GreenHab are restored to more nominal levels.
ATVs:
#1 - Oil ok. Gas 7/16 tank. Started ok.
#2 - A small amount of oil was added . Gas 1/2 tank. Started ok.
#3 - Oil ok. Gas 1/2 tank. Started ok.
The check belt lights are active on ATVs #2 and #3.
GreenHab:
Time: 1005
Humidity: 62%
Temperature: 68 F
Hab: Water System Pump Rewiring Completed As reported yesterday, it was desired that the water pumps be placed on separate switches to enable them to be activated independently. A second electrical line was placed between a new switch on the living level and an electrical socket on the lab level. The internal pump was plugged into the new socket, in parallel with the external pump. Through experimental determination, five seconds minimum are needed for the external pump to push water to the internal pump. We recommend that a wait of 10-15 seconds is used to allow any air bubbles to pass by the internal pump.
Suits: There are no problems with the suits.
