General Engineering Report
Anne Pacros Reporting
Generator/Electricity:
Generac Voltage: 250 V AC
Frequency: 59.4 Hz
DC Voltage: 14.5 V DC
The Hobbs meter read 5116.7 as of 17:40. No oil was added to the Generac.
As we restarted it, the voltage did not go up (stayed under 100 V). We stopped it and tried again with no success. Then we tried starting the backup generator, but we could not get it to work either. We decided to get some help from Don before it got too dark. He arrived about 1 hour later. His diagnosis was that the Generac was sort of "flooded" with propane and he restarted it. Then he had a look at the backup generator and the reason why we could not get it to start is that we had the choke in the wrong position! Then it was started and ran perfectly.
Propane Tanks:
Furnace tank reading at 76% (190 gal).
Tank no. 1 at Generac (closest to the Generac) reading at 65% (325 gal).
Tank no. 2 reading at 65% (325 gal).
Water: We carried 14 buckets of water from the outside to the inside tank! Outside potable water tank level: 35 cm mean height measured from base. Inside tank, measures at 52 gallons.
Hab: Nothing to report.
HVAC: Nothing to report.
Transport: Crew 23 was trained to use the ATVs today and everything went all right.
Mars-Suits: Nothing to report.
