2002-2003 Field Season

Crew 19 Mission PatchMDRS Crew 19
May 14 - 28, 2003

During the active field season, the crew of the Mars Desert Research Station rotates every 2 weeks. These are the scientists and engineers who live and work on site within the MDRS. They explore all of the facets of human exploration in a simulated Mars environment. The MDRS will be active for a 7 month period.

Dr. David Allred
Crew 19 Mission Commander Dr. David Allred is a Professor, in the Physics and Astronomy Dept., Brigham Young University, Utah. His primary research areas include Solar energy conversion, extreme ultraviolet optics. He is a founding Member of the Mars Society.
